Day One – Hume Highway day. Sure is boring. One dreary tree after another – can’t wait to hit the NSW north coast with all those pretty little palm trees dotting the highway. 

Ben has us listening to every Chet Atkins album under the sun. The conversion has been centered around speakers for the last twenty minutes, Celeston Green, black, brown, closed back cabs, open back cabs. Meanwhile I’ve been having withdrawals from the third season of Breaking Bad and my favorite South Park episodes.

We got word earlier this morning the ABC Radio Gold Coast breakfast show will be making ‘Earnest’ album of the week next week.

Later….We were staying the night with some friends in Newcastle. Her and her partner were out for the evening. We rolled in and I quickly proceeded into the kitchen to make a nice big cuppa for everyone. I lite the kettle (which was on the stove) then went back out to the van to load in our gear. When I came back into the kitchen it was full of smoke and the black plastic on the side of the kettle was flaming. Ten minutes in the house and I was already breaking stuff.
